[Opinion] Miro, AI and the value of process

I currently have 30 people mapping out quantum (computing, sensors and communication) from multiple perspectives on a big 'Messy Miro Board' (love that phrasing Stephanie Leue). There is however one thing that does concern me. From my perspective Miro seems to be in danger of losing its core purpose with the addition of 'AI' features designed to make things easier.

I assume Miro is aware that the real value is not in the final board but in the process of creating the board. It's the same with maps, the real value is in the discussion, the final map is just a useful artefact and aide to memory. Attempts to automate the creation of the board or map undermine the core purposes which are communication, understanding and awareness.

I do tend to see this problem more generally where people conflate value with the output (e.g. the map), rather than realising that the process of generating the output creates the desired outcome (e.g. awareness) and hence the value you were after. By automating the output, they literally destroy the value. In other words, if AI builds the map then no one learns the territory.

If you come across other examples, I'd love to hear them.
